Eschweger summer concert inspires talents and emotions!

Last Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the traditional summer concert of the Friedrich-Wilhelm School and the High School took place in the town hall Eschwege. Despite the high temperatures, the participating students could not be stopped and showed their musical skills on the big stage. Led by Anke Salzburger and Andreas Worm, the young talents of the schools offered a multifaceted program, which included both melancholic sounds and euphoric melodies. As the Werra-Rundschau reported, three choirs and two orchestras took the musical highlight Part.

The concert not only offered a show of the talent, but also an opportunity to gain important experiences on stage. The young pre -orchestra opened the evening with the traditional pieces "O Susanna" and "Red River Valley", followed by a moving interpretation of the ballad "Scarborough Fair" through the woodwinds. The large wind orchestra "Tunes of Wind" delighted with gospel songs such as "Just a Closer Walk with Tee" and a rousing Beatles-Medley. The musical performances ranged from well -known melodies to emotional self -compositions, everything in an atmosphere that combined both tradition and adolescents.

a highlight full of emotions

The evening was not only full of musical performances, but also of an emotional dynamic that captivated the audience. Among other things, Chor I presented the pieces "Following the Sun" and "One Kiss" and received enthusiastic applause for the encore "Freed From Desire". Also the year 7, represented by the soloists Sophia Dubenhorst and Nora Steinfeld, impressed with the songs "Scars to your beautiful" and "The one that got away". Great Choir II set further musical accents with "The Emptiness Machine" and the "Madsen Medley", while "Like a Prayer" was presented as one of the highlights of the concert. This presentation was not only a festival of music, but also a celebration of the sense of community among the students.

music as an integral part of school education

The importance of music in everyday school life cannot be assessed high enough. It enriches the life of the students not only in class, but also at school concerts, festivals and other events. As the Gema , the registration of musical use outside of the lesson is legally prescribed. This ensures that the musicians are paid fairly and at the same time the cultural education of children and adolescents is promoted.

Overall, the summer concert was a successful start to the summer vacation, which celebrated the musical talent and the commitment of the students, but also underlined the importance of music in school education. It is to be hoped that such events will continue to be a fixture in the school calendar of the Eschwegians in the future.
