Arolsen shines: Christmas market delights with festive variety!

It's Christmas in Bad Arolsen! On the first weekend of Advent, the Christmas market took place in front of the picturesque residential palace and attracted numerous visitors with a colorful program. This year the market, hosted by City of Bad Arolsen was organized, marked by many special moments.

The festive market atmosphere was opened on Friday evening with a warm devotion by Pastor Philipp Rennert, and the Arols Trombone Choir got the guests in the mood for the contemplative time with Advent songs. After the ceremonial opening, the duo “Tobi and Claire” provided the musical accompaniment and really warmed up the visitors. On Friday and the other market days, over 40 wooden stalls offered a variety of Christmas decorations and handmade works of art.

Versatile program for young and old

The Christmas market was not only a place to browse and enjoy, but also a meeting place for the community. Various associations such as the Kaulbach School Support Association, the KaNaum animal shelter, the DLRG and Ukrainehilfe presented their projects and collected donations for a good cause. The clubs' commitment left a warm impression and showed how important it is to get together in the city.

There was also a lot to experience for the little visitors during Advent. The children were able to put wish lists for the Christ child in a special mailbox. Another highlight was the visit from Santa Claus on Sunday afternoon, who made everyone's eyes light up with sweet gifts.

On Sunday, the folk dance group from Leitmar also performed, while the Mengeringhausen Music Association also provided musical entertainment. The stage program also included performances by the primary school choir from the “Neuer Garten” primary school, dance groups from the music school and the Kaulbach School as well as hunting horn players. The evenings were rounded off with atmospheric live music, with the band “Tommy & Hope” and the performance of Sabrina Hartmann alias Breyn receiving special mention.

A place for reflection and encounter

During the market, the castle chapel remained open as a place of worship. Here, many visitors found a quiet place for reflection amidst the hustle and bustle. The range of food and drinks left nothing to be desired and ensured an all-round successful celebration. The Christmas market in Bad Arolsen is not only a place for trade, but also a highlight for the entire region and marked a special start to the Advent season.

The Christmas market will remain open until today, November 30, 2025, and the last hours invite visitors to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere to the fullest. Links to further information about the Christmas market can be found at WLZ Online and [Bad Arolsen].
