Because on this day the long -awaited renovation of federal road 3 (B 3) between Jesberg and Gut Richerode begins. This measure is expected to continue until the end of October 2025 and comprises a total length of 3.6 kilometers.

The construction work starts with a first section in the passage through Jesberg. Here the road is renewed in a thickness of 12 cm after the upper layers of the asphalt attachment have been removed. Depending on the condition, the road drainage systems are also renewed or repaired depending on the condition. Another important point is the redesign of the traffic islands on the B 3, which are intended to serve as a crossing for pedestrians. In the second phase, the roadway on the free route is fundamentally renovated and the entire asphalt package is replaced.

In the next few months, road users must adjust to a full closure of the B 3. A detour via Dodenhausen and mountain freedom is set up for car traffic between Gilserberg and Bad Zwesten. Heavy traffic, on the other hand, is diverted via Schwalmstadt to the A 49 and on to the Borken junction to Bad Zwesten. Signs on the highway ensure additional information, which will provide information about the blocking. Even with a short -term blocking of the A 49, a need to be redirected via Treysa and Frielendorf.

The construction work is carried out by Hessen Mobil and is intended to invest an investment of around 3.6 million euros. The authority asks for understanding the inconvenience caused by the construction work.

The blocking of the B 3 also has an impact on bus traffic in the region. From December 2024, the timetable concept for bus lines 460 and 461 will be restructured. Line 460, which typically runs between Rauschenberg-Josbach and Jesberg, cannot drive as usual due to the construction work. Instead, line 461 is offered as a direct connection between Schwalmstadt, Gilserberg and Jesberg, whereby surroundings are required.

For passengers from Josbach and Lischeid, there is an hourly call collection option on line 460. In addition, the hourly connection between Gilserberg and Jesberg remains towards Borken-Kleinenglis. On weekends, there is also a change in the direction of Schwalmstadt, since Sebbeterode is approached by line 461. School traffic remains largely unchanged, but there are extended travel times for passengers from Sebbeterode towards Jesberg.

Especially for school children from Neuental-Gilsa and Jesberg-Reptich there is a new journey on line 411 as a replacement for line 461.
