A very special weekend is coming up: The Eagles MC Highland is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Founded in 1975 by a group of eight young people who were passionate about riding mopeds at the time, the club has developed into an integral part of the motorcycle scene in northern Hesse.
The name “Eagles” stands for freedom and adventure, values that are also expressed in the back color of the members: a magnificent red eagle with a sword is emblazoned on it and has been designed in three parts since 1990. With over 100 members and local groups in Treysa and Stadtallendorf, the club was the first in northern Hesse with three charters in the 1980s.
A celebration for everyone
The celebrations will take place from June 20th to 22nd at the Gründchen clubhouse in Sebbeterode. Not only members are invited, but all motorcycle enthusiasts. The program promises a lot of entertainment: On Friday the band “Crazy Train” will play from 9 p.m., while on Saturday “Allen Head” will take over the musical reins. Camping and food are available for overnight guests - a perfect opportunity to share the joy of motorcycling and relive old stories.
Since its founding, a motorcycle meeting has been held annually, which has been a tradition for the Eagles MC Highland. The close relationships with the village community are strengthened through active participation in local events and donations. The clubhouse grill hut, which was built in 1985 on the old sports field, is also the place where many celebrations and parties are held.
A look into history
In the early days, women were also able to become “full members,” but due to challenges at events, this status is now reserved for men. Nevertheless, women are still active in club life, even though they are not allowed to wear the color. The club has a rich history, including organizing a charity event for children following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1996.
Another memorable event occurred in 1999, when police surrounded the area as a precaution during a large club meeting, but everything remained peaceful. These experiences create trust and a cultural foundation that has always united motorcycle clubs. Loud Wikipedia Motorcycle clubs are often recognized by common badges such as the color and have a long tradition since the end of the 19th century.
The Eagles MC Highland currently has 20 members, and President Jörg Schölling is leading the club through these exciting times. The minimum displacement for motorcycles is 600 cubic meters. Stop by and let yourself be infected by the warm hospitality of the bikers!
