In Schwalmstadt-Ziegenhain, the German Red Cross (DRK) is starting an important blood donation campaign under the motto “Good deed to the power of 2”. This will take place from November 17th to 28th, 2025 and aims to ensure the blood supply during the cold season. The need is clear: In Hesse and Baden-Württemberg, around 2,700 blood donations are needed every day to maintain health care.
The blood donation campaign not only offers the opportunity to save lives, but also gives gifts to the donors. Anyone who donates blood together with a new donor receives a stylish enamel cup set in the DRK design. A single blood donation can save up to three lives, which underlines the importance of this campaign.
Important details about the campaign
The donation itself takes about an hour, although the removal only takes around 15 minutes. Donors also benefit from a comprehensive health check before donating. There is an additional incentive, especially for first-time donors: after a few weeks, they will receive information about their blood type.
