50 years Rotary Club Schwalmstadt: Review and view full of hope!

Schwalmstadt, Deutschland - On July 23, 2025, the Rotary Club Schwalmstadt celebrated its 50th anniversary in a festive framework in the Evangelical parish hall. The handover of the charter was the highlight of the celebrations, in which President Reinhardt Natt duly praised the milestones of the past club year and the commitment of the members. The festival committee, consisting of Carmen Ritter, Marita Natt, Harald Manz, Björn Bauer and Wilhelm Bechtel, had taken care of the organization of the event.

In exciting backlings, Willi Kreuter and Manfred Nahler recalled the beginnings of the club and its development over the years. A special highlight of the celebration was the award from Werner Schwalm, who was honored with the title "Paul Harris Fellow with Sapphire". This award recognizes his extraordinary commitment, especially when organizing the Christmas market.

The club year 2024/2025 was characterized by a variety of projects that went far beyond the classic club activities. The outstanding initiatives included family evenings, terrace meetings and the extraction of new members. The benefit concert with HQPlus from the Hanover Federal Police Orchestra, which earned over 3,000 euros to support outpatient hospice work, was particularly gratifying. In total, more than 21,000 euros flowed from various fundraisers and a district grant in non-profit purposes.

A new course in the future

In the course of the celebrations, Reinhardt Natt handed over the club management with confidence to the new President Werner Dörrbecker. This is done in accordance with the Rotarian annual topic "Unite for Good - Together Good For Education, Health and Peace". This philosophy is a central component of the Rotary movement, which has been connected to each other since it was founded by Paul P. Harris in Chicago, as the first service club in the world, people of different origins and professions.
