Summer project A City for All”: art, sport and enjoyment in Baunatal!
Something is happening in Baunatal in the summer of 2025! Under the promising title “A City for All”, an exciting project will start on July 10th that will transform the market square into a lively center. Until August 14th, citizens, artists and the city administration can look forward to a series of events that not only invite you to stroll and enjoy, but also strengthen the feeling of community. Baunatal.blog reports that a wooden hut will be set up for catering and storage and mobile trees will be set up to create a green oasis.
Partners in the project include the Osteria reBelot restaurant and numerous retailers who can take part in the weekly events. These take place every Thursday from 5 p.m. and once on Saturdays from 10 a.m.
Diverse events for young and old
The program is impressive! Yes, the events are a true feast for all the senses. Just in time for the start on July 10th, there will be the first event “CITYmalt”, an art campaign with the artist Nino Balkhamishvili. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be open-air cinema, music and creative hands-on activities. A work of art made from an old car can also be admired there.
Another highlight will take place on July 19th, when the “CITYschmeckt” with the Schmeggerwöhlerchen from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will focus on culinary delicacies, music and a convivial atmosphere. That makes you want more!
If you would like to do some sport, you should stop by “CITYbewegt” on July 24th. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., sports and games such as basketball, table football and soccer darts await participants. You can take part here without registering – just come along and have fun!
Cultural highlights and singing together
It will be musical on July 31st, because at “CITYsingt” everyone can sing together with the original band “Desperado Four” from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and follow the lyrics on an LCD screen. This will put you in a good mood!
For board game fans there will be all sorts of board games and large games for all age groups at “CITYplay” on August 7th. And on the final evening, August 14th, there will be salsa dancing and celebrating at “CITYtanzt” from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. DJ SINCO and DJ ZDEE provide lively rhythms, while the Hotel Scirocco provides gastronomic accompaniment.
All in all, it shows that Baunatal not only shines as a sports city with landmarks such as the floodlight masts of the Parkstadion and the Rundsporthalle, but also as a lively stage for cultural and social encounters. The charming city with its buildings from the 70s and 80s has a lot planned. A stroll through the city center and the shopping streets, such as the RATIO-Land in Hertingshausen, invites you to linger and makes the summer simply perfect. In short: there is something going on!
