From July 3rd to 6th, 2025, Baunatal will be dominated by the city festival, which this year celebrates the city's 59th birthday. The festival traditionally attracts large numbers of visitors to the city center, and this year around 50,000 people are expected. A colorful program is offered on three stages, so there is something for every generation. The event will be held under the theme “Celebrate and Enjoy” and promises to be a celebration of entertainment and community. An amusement mile with a Ferris wheel and bumper scooters will also provide lots of fun on Friedrich-Ebert-Allee. And the best part? Admission to the festival stages is free!
Musical highlights
Music will be the central part of the festival. On Thursday, July 3rd, the Fanta 4 tribute band “FOUR WINS” will open at 8 p.m. on the main stage at the market square. On Friday, July 4th, the city festival continues at 7 p.m. with popular DJs such as KRAFTY, HOLD UP, SINCO and ZDEE. The highlight follows on Saturday, July 5th, with the tribute show by “THE ROBBIE EXPERIENCE” and the artist Mario Nowack, before DJ René M Bieler continues the party with his beats until late into the night. On Sunday, July 6th, the program will conclude at 7 p.m. with the band REINER IRRSINN.
There is also a lot of music on the “Klimperkasten” stage in the city center – on Friday, for example, with the band NO LIMIT. The musical spectacle on Saturday will be rounded off by the “Local DJ Night”, where various DJs will show their talent. Friday will also feature a performance by Rolling Joe & The Pushers on stage “34225” at the Catholic Church.

The little festival visitors are well catered for: the free children's area, organized by Spielmobil Agustine, offers all sorts of opportunities to play and have fun. Here parents can enjoy the festival's attractions with their children without any worries. In addition, the city shops are open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., so there are plenty of opportunities to pick up a bargain or two.
