Three injured after frontal collision on the B 455 near Wölfersheim

A serious traffic accident caused excitement on Sunday evening on Bundesstraße 455 near Wölfersheim. Around 6:45 p.m., a 50-year-old man from Hungen and his Mazda CX-60 got on the opposite lane in a left turn and collided with a VW Polo there. The Mazda driver and the 34-year-old Polo driver remained with minor injuries thanks to the quick intervention of the rescue workers, while the 21-year-old passenger of the Polo was seriously injured. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital with a rescue helicopter. The federal road 455 had to be closed for about two and a half hours to supply the injured and secure the scene of the accident.

But that's not the only incident on the B455 lately. In the early Sunday morning there was another serious accident on the same route as wiesbadenaktuell.de. A 19-year-old driver from the Miltenberg district had lost control of his VW Golf in the transition to the A66 at the "Erbenheimer Kreuz", whereupon the vehicle overturned and on the roof. Thanks to the integrated emergency call system of an iPhone, the first emergency call was quickly discontinued. The emergency services were quickly on site and found three injured people, most of whom were able to free themselves from the vehicle. However, two inmates were trapped in the heavily deformed car and needed professional help. The liberation lasted over an hour, the 18-year-old passenger was finally flown to the accident clinic in Frankfurt with a rescue helicopter.

The situation on the streets

These two incidents throw a disturbing light on the traffic situation on the B455, a route that is considered one of the accident areas in the statistics of the Destatis. The Germany -wide accident statistics show that several factors often contribute to serious traffic accidents, including speed overruns, distraction at the wheel and unfavorable road conditions. It is essential that the traffic safety measures are continuously developed to reduce the number of accidents.

Not only accidents on the street are an issue in the region. Crime also makes headlines: in Butzbach, a 75-year-old woman was the destination of a brazen theft when she was distracted while shopping and her wallet was stolen. The police ask for information from the population.

In addition, the police reported the theft of a white Honda-Leichtrad bike in Münzenberg, which was lit in a dirt road at a later hour. Here the police also hope for witness reports to get to the bottom of this offense.

These incidents illustrate the challenges with which the region is confronted - be it in road traffic or in relation to public security. Citizens are required to stay careful and help with possible information in order to increase security in their communities.
