Bad Nauheim starts through: New Smart Region Hub inspires visitors!

In Bad Nauheim, the digital future has taken another step forward. The third "Smart Region Hub" in Hessen, under the name "Digital.M.puls", was opened on Sunday. With around 250 visitors at the celebration in the colonnades, a milestone was set in the development of the health city. Students of the fifth and sixth classes presented creative ideas for the future of the hub, including a cable car for apples - this shows how complex the approaches are in the digital world.

With this thing, Bad Nauheim is not only a pioneer in digitality, but also an important player in the area of smart cities. The city has repeatedly proven itself in national rankings in recent years and has achieved high positions. This also has to do with the digital agenda, which includes numerous smart projects, such as an advanced "digital inner-city management system" (DIM). This was funded in 2022 with 936,540 euros from the “Strong Heimat Hessen” program, as Digitales.hessen.de

sensors and data for a better city

A remarkable aspect of the new hub is the installation of around 80 sensors in the city, which collect data on air quality, traffic volume and other environmental factors. Benjamin Lanz from Gal Digital presented a "digital planning table" that clearly visualizes this data and thus contributes to the decision -making process of the city administration. These initiatives are also supported by the digital inner city management system, which collects raw data from sensors, analyzed and provides on an urban platform. In this way, the intelligent linking of data for different concerns is made possible, which further improves the quality of life of the citizens.
The clever sensors even measure soil moisture in parks and are associated with an innovative casting plan. The waste disposal also becomes smarter: trash cans automatically report when they need to be emptied, and noise sensors can even recognize calls for help.

Some most modern technologies are also part of the hub. Here visitors find 3D printer and virtual reality glasses for interactive experiences. It remains exciting to see how the city plantation, which is intended as a central place for exchange and experience between local actors, will shape the digital landscape in Bad Nauheim.

a place for everyone

The planning for future events in the hub are already in full swing. These are intended to address various target groups, including companies and schools, and are intended to serve to promote networking and exchange among the actors. The health economy in particular is in the foreground, since Bad Nauheim has made a name for itself as a health city.

"Digital Minister Prof. Dr. Kristina Sinemus handed over the funding notice of over 1.06 million euros for the Smart Region Hub to the Mayor Klaus Kreß. This is an important step to support the future viability of Bad Nauheim," so report the fnp and digitales.hessen.de . The funding goes as part of the “Stark Heimat Hessen” program and ensures that both the municipality and its citizens can benefit from these digital projects in the coming years.
