Rear-end collision near Hanau: 38-year-old injured, 24,000 euros in damage!
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, a rear-end collision occurred on Federal Highway 45 near Hanau, which affected three vehicles and caused a stir in the area. According to [GNZ](https://www.gnz.de/lokales/main-kinzig-kreis/stadt-hanau/auffahrunfall-auf-b45-bei-hanau-38-jaehrige-verletzt-24-000-euro- Schaden-SGESOUF5HBBIBPRS3BSVOE6NMU.html?outputType=valid_amp), the incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. in which a 38-year-old woman from Hanau was slightly injured.
The accident happened when the 38-year-old was driving her Suzuki in the direction of Dieburg. Due to the traffic situation, the Maserati Levante and an Opel Insignia had to brake abruptly. The Suzuki driver, who failed to notice that the other vehicles were braking, hit the Maserati, which was then pushed onto the Opel. The total damage is estimated at around 24,000 euros, and an ambulance was used to provide medical care to the 38-year-old.
Looking for witnesses
The police have started investigating the incident and are looking for witnesses. They are asked to contact the Südosthessen police motorway station on 06181/9010-0.
What is shocking is that a similar incident happened on the same route just a few months earlier, on September 2, 2024. There was a fatal motorcycle accident in which a 40-year-old motorcyclist from Hanau suffered fatal injuries. This accident occurred around 6:50 a.m. in the direction of Bruchköbel, near Kinzigheimer Hof. According to News-Stadt, a rear-end collision could have been the cause here too. A 41-year-old Transit driver was the other party involved in the rear-end collision. However, the exact circumstances of the accident are still unclear and experts have been called in to clarify the causes.
The fatal incident caused significant traffic delays as the northbound lane had to be closed until around 11:30 a.m. Some road users ignored the closure and the police opened proceedings against several people who took unauthorized photos of the accident scene.
The B45 appears to be a critical point for traffic accidents and police are again urging caution. Given these recent events, it is critical that both drivers and pedestrians pay attention to traffic signals and their surroundings. Road safety is everyone's top priority.
