Korean Community in Frankfurt: A blooming center of culture!

The Rhein-Main region blooms in a colorful mix of cultures, and the largest Korean community in Germany is at the forefront. Over 14,000 South Korean citizens have settled here, often as talented business people, engineers or entrepreneurs. The region is an important location for more than 220 Korean companies, which also include the Germany or Europe-Center of significant corporations such as LG and Samsung. LG has its European seat in Eschborn, where more than 440 employees are employed. Samsung, on his part, dared to return to Eschborn in 2024 after it was based in Schwalbach for decades and had also hit its roots there. This targeted settlement testifies to the excellent traffic connections and the multicultural atmosphere of the region.

The Korean community is not only economically active, but also passionately maintains its culture and traditions. An important point of contact is the Korean school in Frankfurt, which is the largest of its kind in Europe with around 700 students. Here the children learn not only the language, but also the customs of their homeland. The annual Korean Film Festival, which took place for the 13th time in 2024, is another highlight that beats cultural bridges. Various Korean restaurants, supermarkets and hairdressers - such as the popular "Cho Beauty" in Frankfurt - make it easy for the expats to feel at home.

cultural offers and networks

The Korean community has established a network of institutions and associations that has something to offer for everyone. A wide range of offers can be found here from the German-Korean legal society to the Korean Film Festival. Frankfurt is also active in the sports area: the sports school Seoul and various K-pop dance courses are very popular. A visit to the cinema, for example in the Astor film lounge or in the cinema, rounds off the leisure offer.

social encounters are also very important - regular regulars and events bring together the members of the community. In June 2024, a successful community day took place in Frankfurt, which offered space for personal exchange and meal together. The Korean adopted in the region also find support and community through various networking events.

variety and integration of communities

The Korean community is not the only one that flourishes in Frankfurt and the surrounding area. The Indian community is also growing rapidly, with around 11,400 Indian citizens, which are mainly active in the IT sector. More than 140 Indian companies, including well -known companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, have established themselves in the region. The Indian Consulate General and numerous cultural initiatives are also located in Frankfurt.

The Polish community has a long tradition in Frankfurt, with around 10,000 Poles, whose migration goes back to the 19th century. The German-Polish Society Frankfurt is active and promotes cultural exchange between the two nations.

The image of successful integration efforts in the Offenbach district is rounded off, where the experiences from previous waves of refugees are used to offer help for newcomers. For example, Adnan Alabdullah, a Syrian refugee, founded a flourishing company in Dreieich.

The Rhein-Main region once again proves to be a melting pot of various cultures, in which not only economic but also social networks are linked. As we see, cultural diversity meets economic potential here - and that is only the beginning.
