Young lifesaver: First place for Amöneburg-Rüdigheim at the competition!

What an exciting competition! On July 4, 2025, the large district decision took place in the national competition of the youth fire brigades in Caldern in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district. A total of 32 teams took part, which demonstrated their skills in exciting and varied disciplines. Not only skill and teamwork were on the agenda.

The competition was divided into two exciting parts: In the A part , the participants had to simulate a fire attack, performing important fire brigade nodes and fire department. The b-part then challenged the young people in a 400-meter relay race, where they had to master additional tasks such as coupling hoses and putting on protective clothing.

In the exciting group ranking, the youth fire brigade Amöneburg-Rüdigheim fought first place, extremely narrowly with just one point ahead of the youth fire brigade Wohratal and Kirchhain-Nachebach. In the seasons, the Rauschenberg-Ernsthausen youth fire brigade was unbeatable and clearly put the competition in the shade. The first-placed teams and the best runner-up now have the honor to represent the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf at the state decision on August 31st in Lorsch. Another Highlight is on September 6th when the performance clip takes place in Wallau. For all friends of the fire brigade and youth promotion, there is also a special day of action on August 30th to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the district youth fire brigade.

But not only in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district there was such hustle and bustle. In the neighboring district of Gießen, the youth fire brigade in Hungen competed in the district elimination a week earlier. Here, too, 23 groups offered an exciting picture, including the victorious youth fire brigade Hungen-Bellersheim 1, which prevailed with 1418 points and can therefore compete in the state competition in Alsfeld.
