A year of Dorfmobil Lingelbach: Successful trips for everyone!
A year of Dorfmobil Lingelbach: Successful trips for everyone!
Alsfeld, Deutschland - The Lingelbach Dorfmobil has now celebrated its annual existence and can look back on a consistently positive balance. Organizer and chairwoman Ingrid Neusel is pleased with the lively participation in the driving service, which benefits the older and mobility -restricted residents of rural areas. The regular trips to Alsfeld are very popular - proof that the project hits the nerve of the times. The service is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and connects Lingelbach via Berfa and Eifa with the city center.
The booking for the trips is made on Fridays between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., whereby the passengers are picked up comfortably from home and brought back. Thanks to the "Together in Hesse" funding program, the trips can generally be offered free of charge. This promotes the mobility of the villagers and closes gaps in local transport, which are particularly important for older people who rely on access to supermarkets, medical practices or sports clubs. The Funding program not only supports the introduction, but also the operation of such citizens' bus models, which are considered a valuable addition to local public transport.
Various offers and voluntary commitment
Last year, the village mobile not only adopted an important transport function, but also offers individual trips to appointments, such as the hairdresser or physiotherapy. The introduction of a regular journey to the volcano thermalet in Herbstein, which starts on Wednesdays at 8.45 a.m. from Lingelbach, is particularly gratifying. The return trip takes place around 12 noon. For everyone who wants to rent the village mobile for special occasions, there are also corresponding options, for example for encounter coffee or senior afternoons.
The entire project is operated purely on a voluntary basis; Twelve drivers from the surrounding towns of Lingelbach, Berfa and Angenrod are committed to a lot of commitment. The motivated team is happy about other volunteers, also from other parts of the city. The annual fee for members is at least 24 euros, and there is a donation fund on the bus to cover the continuous costs. The Dorfmobil has thus established itself as a prime example of successful civic engagement and illustrates how important such initiatives are for rural mobility.
However, there are also challenges: the e-tone bus, which is part of the project, has to finance itself in the long term. Preparations for an online appearance on the city of Alsfeld's website are already being planned to achieve further interested parties. The application for the implementation was brought to the city council, but remained in the queue for the time being due to open questions.
Prepare sustainable mobility
The Lingelbach villagemobil is not only a local project, but also fits into the greater framework of the efforts to make sustainable mobility in rural areas. The Federal Ministry of Transport recently released a guide to promoting mobility in rural areas. This contains various practical examples, including citizen buses, and emphasizes the importance of considering urban and land needs in transport.
The combination of classic public transport offers and flexible solutions such as the village mobile shows how diverse the mobility needs in rural regions. With a dedicated team of volunteer drivers and a well thought -out concept, the village mobile is well positioned in order to meet the challenges of rural mobility in the coming years. The project is a real ray of hope and proof that joint action and commitment can do a lot.
