Rotenburg an der Fulda, Deutschland - In a week in a week, Rotenburg on the Fulda becomes the center of sport and conviviality. From June 20th to 22nd, 2025, the eagerly awaited city and athlete meeting of the red (h) of Enburg will take place. The event promises a colorful program in which around 350 participants from six other locations will demonstrate their sporting ambition. Mayor Marcus Weber cordially invites the citizens to this historical meeting. A true festival for sports enthusiasts will take place on Saturday, June 21st from 10 a.m. At nine locations, a variety of competitions in disciplines such as football, basketball, volleyball and of course also traditional handball are held. The organizers, including the mayor and press spokeswoman Annika Ludwig, have come up with a lot to inspire both the active athletes and the spectators. The local community is supported by around 130 volunteers and clubs who ensure that everything runs smoothly. The supporting program not only offers sporting challenges, but also cultural experiences. Irish dance is presented in the citizens' hall, and guests have the opportunity to try their skills at archery and shooting in the Kottenbach shooting club. The competitions enjoy a special highlight in the Schlosspark with the closing ceremony, which includes live music from the band Wifelife and the award ceremony of the challenge cup. This trophy, currently in Rothenburg/Lucerne, is handed over to the best participant and is a coveted symbol of sporting success. As already mentioned, it is not the first time that Rotenburg on the Fulda acts as a host. The red (h) of the city and athletes' meetings follows a rotating concept and takes place every two years in changing cities in Germany, Poland and Switzerland. The last event in Rotenburg took place in 2013 and gave the participants a positive impression. All guests are invited to pursue the competitions and take part in trial courses, which makes the event a social meeting for the entire region. The organizers have already taken a look into the future and invite all interested parties to participate in the next event in 2027. The joint exchange and the sporting competitions between the various red (h) Enburg not only strengthen the friendships between the cities, but also the sense of community on site.
