The anticipation for the summer holidays in Hesse is growing, because it finally starts on Friday, July 4th! This year there will once again be a very special place for the little ones in Hünfeld: an XXL sandpit that will transform the city center into a true play paradise. As reported last year Rhoen Canal, the sandbox on Mittelstrasse will have the impressive dimensions of 6 by 24 meters and will be filled with around 50 cubic meters of sand.
But that's not all: New this year is a permanently installed sand excavator that the children can use to start digging. Mayor Benjamin Tschesnok will also be present at the opening, who will warmly welcome the children from the local St. Ulrich daycare center. The gaming experience is complemented by a water pump, which provides additional fun.
A relaxing experience for the whole family
There is also reason for parents to be happy. The VR-Bank NordRhön provides deckchairs so that mothers and fathers can relax comfortably while their children play in the sand. City Marketing Hünfeld also provides enough sand toys so that there are no limits to creative digging.
But that's not all: the city center invites you to visit one or two shops and enjoy a cool cocktail or a delicious ice cream after an exciting day. Tanto voters! After all, those responsible for the young and old have come up with a lot of ideas.
A little treasure in the sand
Another highlight that the guests of honor have not forgotten is the exciting treasure hunt for blue Gaalberntalers, which are hidden in the sand. During his vacation between July 20th and 26th, Mayor Tschesnok will ensure that every child who finds such a coin will be rewarded with a scoop of ice cream - truly a delicious adventure!
The sandpit campaign remains open until September 7th and therefore offers the perfect opportunity for a sustainable family day.
