Gigantic Ferris wheel in Fulda: highlight of Hessentag 2026!

Fulda has big plans for 2026, when the city takes on the role of host for Hessentag. A very special highlight will be a 45 meter high Ferris wheel that will be set up in the ITZ parking lot at the Old Slaughterhouse. This impressive structure, which will be part of the hr-Treff, not only promises breathtaking views of the city, but also a unique atmosphere during the events.

Dominik Höhl, the Hessentag representative, is already looking forward to the Ferris wheel, which will be visible from afar and will provide a very special backdrop during the evening concerts on Domplatz. The operation of the Ferris wheel was awarded to the Landwermann family, who impressed with their “Movie Star 2” model. There were ten applications in total, which shows how popular this attraction is.

A Ferris wheel for everyone

With 36 fully glazed and air-conditioned gondolas, the Ferris wheel is also ideal for people with limited mobility. The gondolas offer enough space for wheelchairs, strollers and walkers. Daniela and Ludwig Landwermann have already spoken enthusiastically about the hospitality and welcoming atmosphere in Fulda.

As an additional special feature, there will also be special promotions as part of Hessentag, including the opportunity for couples to get married at dizzying heights. So the Ferris wheel will not only offer rides but also create unforgettable memories.

A look into the future

The Ferris wheel is not only a highlight of Hessentag, but also a symbol of the spirit of optimism in Fulda. This project modernizes the city in an exciting way while preserving traditions. The long tradition of entertaining at the hr-Treff continues and offers both locals and visitors plenty of reasons to be happy.

While we look forward to Hessentag 2026, the question remains what other surprises Fulda has in store. A Ferris wheel that shines from afar will be a beautiful sign of hope and new perspectives that looks down on the city and will delight us many times in the years to come.
