Big forest fire at Rhena: 120 firefighters in action!

On Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, a strong fire caused excitement in a hectare mixed forest near Rhena. The fire broke out around 1:18 p.m. and is located in the valley area below the Silberkuhle hiking car park. The alarmed emergency services, including around 120 firefighters from Korbach, Rhena, Lelbach, Lengefeld, Willingen and Bad Arolsen, as well as other fire brigade teams from Ober-Ense and Eppe, were quickly on site to prevent worse.
