on Thursday evening, July 3, 2025, the starting signal for the highly expected Altstadt culture festival in Korbach was given. The event attracted numerous visitors in bright sunshine and summer temperatures. In front of the town hall, people and enjoyed the festive mood, which was enriched by the musical entertainment of the Rock-AG of the old state school. The new Goldmarie, Emma Kuhlmann, 18 years old and from Eimelrod, was pleased with her appointment and gave the audience an insight into their anticipation for the upcoming festivities. Her work in the Korbach town hall gives her a particularly good knack for the role.

The official opening of the festival was celebrated with firecrackers from the St. Barbara shooters and the entertaining rise of soap bubbles. The celebrations also included free beer for the guests to duly appreciate the event. The opening at the Obermarkt attracted many people with dance people with DJ Olde and a Madness XXL party. Later there were electronic beats from the "DJ Carl NOx" from Marsberg on the stage at the Kump.
In the wine village, the singer/songwriter Phil Schaller performed with his band and was followed by the popular Würzburg party band "Würzbuam", who even celebrated the top league climb of HSG Twistetal II and brought the players on stage. The visitors also delighted appearances from "3 Simple" and "My T Sharp" in the "stage in the courtyard". Another musical delicacy was the Bon-Jovi cover band "Bounce", which caused the crowd to cheer on the town hall stage.

The old town culture festival has a tradition over 20 years and was originally launched in 1998 as part of the Hesse Days. Korbach is particularly proud of his celebrations, which take place every year on the first weekend in July and last for four days. Over 90% of the events are free of admission, which offers guests from near and far a colorful festival mile through the historic old town, which comes up with over 100 program points, including music, cabaret and gastronomy.
Especially for the little visitors there is a varied program that includes conversations and a children's flea market. Musically there is something for every taste: from the Bon-Jovi tribute band "Bounce" to the cover band "Alex im Westerland", the songs of "Die Dächt" and "The Toten Hosen", to comedian Davis. The wine village forms a central part of the festival, where regional wines can be enjoyed in combination with live music.
