Abitur 2025: The smallest vintage says goodbye with big dreams!

Korbach, Deutschland - On June 28, 2025, the graduation year 2025 said goodbye to the old state school in the Korbach district sports hall. With only 42 graduates, this year is the little one in recent history. Headmaster Alexander Flake took the opportunity to motivate pupils and relatives and to talk about the freedom of decisions that goes hand in hand with the general university entrance qualification. At an emotional moment, he mentioned a former student who strives for the departure life on the Algarve coast. This makes it clear that the Abitur is more than just a degree - it opens doors into new ways of life.

The grade average was 2.05 and was therefore below the Hessian average of 2.3. The challenge that is behind every note was all the more honored. In their speeches, the students Jana Sophie Emde and Christian Stumpe recalled the intensive experiences during their school days, in particular a formative final trip to Imperia. Parent representative Ralf Wittwer came up with a positive conclusion and proudly commented on the personal development of the students. The teachers received roses as a sign of appreciation, presented by the graduates.

cohesion and team spirit

The tutors Silke Schüttler, Alexander Steyer and Eva-Maria Zürker shaped the evening with mathematical comparisons at school, and school spokesman Tim Kieweg emphasized the cohesion and team spirit of the year. Mayor Stefan Kieweg also found praise and emphasized the skills they have learned that will be useful to the students in their future ways. After around two hours the ceremonies of the graduation certificates took place, accompanied by a rousing vintage song from "Bastille", which then heralded the move out of graduates.

A look at the current developments in education

While the students are preparing for their new challenges, there are also basic reforms in high school in other federal states. For example, North Rhine-Westphalia reforms the upper school high school and will introduce new exam formats from the school year 2027/28. The aim of these measures is better preparation for studying and professional life as well as stronger nationwide comparability. According to the German school portal there will be about a fifth high school duty and presentations and mandatory project courses.

In a country comparison, it can be seen that the examination requirements vary significantly. An evaluation of the kmk showed that the average grades of the high school graduates have to have a stable value in recent years, but must be taken into account whether these values will continue to be taken into account.

In summary, the farewell to the graduation year 2025 shows that despite the challenges of school, the return to the freedom of decisions is a new beginning. New paths are now open to the graduates of the old state school, which can be followed with courage and determination.
