Rapid snouts: 12th Schwalm dog racing enthusiastic about the audience!

A spectacle for the whole family took place in Ober limenbach today: the region showed its best side at the 12th Schwalmer dog race. Organized by the Hundportverein Oberrenzebach in cooperation with the Knüll-Upper Grenzbach local group of the Association for German Shepherd Dogs, the event attracted numerous dog lovers and curious people. In bright sunshine, 116 dogs completed the 60 meter long sprint track in three different classes - small, medium and large.

The spectators were feverish with their four -legged friends when the dogs started individually. The aim was to sprint into the arms of mistress or owner who waited with spread arms. The runs provided a lot of enthusiasm, and the overall positive echo of participants and organizers shows that the event is firmly established in the event calendar.

The winning coats

Steffi Orlik triumphed in the class of big dogs with her Malinois Cooper, who crossed the finish line in sensational 4.58 seconds. Mirko Brosig made it second with Puma, a Herder, with a time of 4.80 seconds, followed by Vanessa Röhardt and Jara, another Malinois that finished in 4.93 seconds. The performance was also impressive in the other classes:

All twelve participants received prices, while the three fastest of each class was awarded trophies. The sociable coexistence and the rousing mood transformed the race into a real festival for everyone.

a highlight for the community

Horst Tschepa, first chairman of the dog sports club, opened the event at 11 a.m. Together with the second chairman Dirk Mette, he praised the importance of this event for the community and sporting ambition. "It is not only a competition, but also a festival of joy and coexistence," said Tschepa. The positive response of the participants finally reflects that such events are of great importance for club life and the region. The physical well -being of the spectators was also taken care of, so that everyone could fortify themselves after the exciting races.

The Schwälmer dog race has developed into an integral part of the event calendar in recent years and inspires dog lovers from near and far. Once again it was shown how important such events are for the gathering of people and animals.
