Women set an example with victory at Wolfhager Shooting Sports Week!
This year, the 49th Wolfhager Shooting Sports Week offered an exciting event for all shooting sports enthusiasts and took place from July 3rd to 5th, 2025 in the Schützenhaus Winterlichte. The event, organized by the Wolfhagen Shooting Guild, attracted 29 amateur teams of four who went to the shooting range to give their best with the small-caliber sports rifle at a distance of 50 meters. What was particularly remarkable was that all teams competed in a common ranking, regardless of whether they were women's, men's or mixed teams.
Particularly noteworthy is the Kernstadtwehr women's team, consisting of Inge Hafke, Lisa Spangenberg, Kinga Lopatniuk and Elke Masche, who secured first place with 363 rings. Suddenly there was great cheering! The former site administration (355 rings) and the core city fire department one (354 rings) followed in second and third place. The Wolfhagen CDU city association also showed its strength and came in fourth place with 353 rings, closely followed by the core city fire department three and Bründersen fire department I, both of which achieved 350 rings.
Individual achievements and honors
Lisa Spangenberg shone in the individual competition and became the best individual shooter with an outstanding 94 out of 100 possible rings. Her teammates Kun Quan-Duplois, Inge Hafke and Johanna Swoboda also scored strongly with 92 rings. For men, Frank Wollenhaupt from Autohaus Ostmann achieved the highest individual score with 95 rings. Thorsten Tripp and Matthias Neubauer followed closely behind him with 94 rings each. In total, 16 out of 55 individual shooters managed to score 90 or more rings, which underlines the high quality of the performances.
The city cup shooting, under the patronage of Esther Dilcher (SPD), attracted not only teams but also individual participants to the large prize shooting. Kun Qian-Duplois won with a total of 624. Daniel Duplois (741) and Max Borchardt (827) completed the list of winners. Eleven non-cash prizes were awarded in various categories, providing additional excitement and joy. As part of the lucky target shooting, Jessica Engelbrecht and Petra Abel received money boxes, with Jessica scoring the extreme points with a ring number of 16 and Petra scoring 63.
Diverse offers and the target group
The shooting sports week was aimed at a broad audience. There were also numerous opportunities for participation for those interested without membership in a shooting club. Registration of teams was possible, and even groups of friends or other clubs and institutions from the Wolfhager Land were warmly welcomed. As part of the event, there was also a large prize shoot, which was open on all days and gave participants the opportunity to put their skills to the test. Anyone who wanted to prepare for the city cup competition in advance could use the prize shooting as an ideal test.
The event was not only a great success for the Wolfhagen Rifle Guild, but also a celebration of sport and community. The large number of participants speaks for the popularity of the event and the high status of shooting sports in the region. The Wolfhager Shooting Sports Week has proven that shooting sports are alive in Hesse and will continue to attract many enthusiastic participants in the future. So it's clear: There's a lot more possible!
