Rewe Frankenberg reopened after 5 million euros renovation!
The Rewe market at the Alte Ziegelei in Frankenberg has reopened its doors after an extensive renovation that took four months. The owner Denis Schneider has invested heavily in modernization: around five million euros went into the new look and equipment of the store. On November 13th, the opening day, the rush of customers was so great that the shelves were quickly emptied.
In addition to the supermarket, which now offers an impressive selection of almost 30,000 items on 1,450 square meters, a new Rewe drinks market was also opened in the former Aldi building on the site. This has a sales area of 666 square meters and was put into operation in mid-July. The optimization of the range relies heavily on freshness and regionality, which has been well received by customers.
Redesign and customer service
A look at the changes shows that the market not only looks beautiful, but has also become smarter. There are now digital advertising monitors, self-scanners and self-service checkouts that make shopping even more convenient. The redesigned entrance has also been relocated so that customers now enter the market through a single entrance. At the same time, the Hatzfeld bakery Eckhardt branch has found a new home in Rewe, which further strengthens the market's local roots.
Another highlight is the cooperation with the butcher Frank Vesper from Medebach, who offers fresh products directly on site. Denis Schneider, who also runs Rewe stores in Hallenberg and Wetter, employs a total of 60 people full-time, part-time and as temporary workers.
Tradition and future
A little history blows through the walls of the supermarket: The old chimney of the Bötzel brickworks was demolished in September, but Denis Schneider plans to commemorate the past history of this site with a memorial plaque or display case. The Rewe market itself belongs to REWE Markt GmbH, one of Germany's leading food retailers with over 3,800 stores and more than 170,000 employees. Rewe was founded in 1927 and has come a long way since then, not least through numerous sustainability initiatives.
With these innovations and the focus on regionality and quality, the Frankenberg Rewe market shows that it is not just a place to shop, but also represents a piece of home for the local people. In doing so, it follows the tradition of a company that is very popular not only in Frankenberg, but throughout Germany.
Overall, it can be said that the new Rewe store in Frankenberg is a brilliant new start that looks to the future with a breath of fresh air and clear goals. The combination of fresh products, digital shopping experience and local connection makes it a desirable destination for anyone who wants to do a good deal.
