New President of the Rotary Club Oberursel: Greater commitment to the community!
Oberursel, Deutschland - On July 4, 2025, an important day for the Rotary Club Oberursel was, because there was a change at the top. Gregor Hetzke took over the helm from his predecessor Richard Zacharuk. During the ceremonial handover of the office, not only the club's past successes were looked back, but also in sight new goals. Over 1,000 trees were planted in Taunus, which not only benefits the environment, but also strengthens awareness of sustainable projects. The club also supports the Oberursel German summer and organized the popular fountain festival in cooperation with the Windrose Association. As part of her activities, the Rotary Club also carried out the annual Car Wash Aktion in Oberursel. Drivers were able to clean their vehicles, whereby the proceeds were rounded up to a proud 3,500 euros to be donated to the St. Barbara hospice. In his speech, Richard Zacharuk emphasized the importance of this donation: "The hospice represents an ideal recipient for our support," says Zacharuk.Petra Blumenstein from the Hospiz explained that five percent of the costs have to be covered with donations in order to maintain the necessary facilities for the residents. "The hospice accompanies people in their last phase of life with a competent team of care, medicine and social care," she added. In his first public appearance, Gregor Hetzke emphasized the importance of thinking about the needs of people in their last phase of life and fulfilling their personal wishes.
