A wave of break-ins is shaking the Wetterau – clues wanted!
The cozy Wetterau is currently confronted with a wave of break-ins and attempted break-ins. The Friedberg criminal police have solved several recent incidents and are asking the public for help.
A particularly brazen incident occurred in Rosbach. Here, burglars entered a pet supplies store on Raiffeisenstrasse on October 2, 2025 between 7:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. the following day. The perpetrators damaged a window, got into the office and cracked a safe. What exactly was stolen is currently unclear. The Presseportal and News-Stadt report an appeal by the police for witnesses to call 06031 / 6010 if they observe anything suspicious have.
Burglaries in Nidda and Butzbach
It's not just Rosbach who is spared from crime. In Nidda there was also a break-in at a restaurant on “Raun” street between October 5th and 6th, 2025. The unknown people got in through a window and broke into several slot machines and a cash register. Here too, the amount of money stolen is still being determined. Witnesses are required to report to the police.
Also alarming: In Butzbach, burglars tried to damage the fence of a hardware store on Philipp-Reis-Straße. However, the crime period between October 1st and 2nd, 2025 was not very successful because apparently nothing was stolen. This act happened between 6:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. the following day. Here too, the police are asking for information in order to possibly clarify the identity of the perpetrators.
The Karben-Okarben case
An attempted burglary in Karben-Okarben shows that not all burglars are successful. On October 3, 2025, between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., unknown strangers tried to pry open the front door of a single-family home on Saalburgstrasse. But the residents' security precautions held firm. Here, too, the population is asked for information in order to perhaps avoid such crimes altogether in the future.
The police appeal to all citizens in the Wetterau to immediately report any suspicious observations or noises. Only together can the population live more safely and prevent possible break-ins.
