Speed camera week: New speed controls started in the Offenbach district!
On November 1, 2025, everything in the Offenbach district and the Main-Kinzig district will revolve around traffic safety. The traffic directorate has announced that it will carry out intensive speed controls in the coming week. The aim of these measures is to ensure compliance with speed limits on so-called speed hazard routes and accident hotspots. A very important concern, especially for the safety of all road users.
The measurements are planned at several strategic points:
- 03.11.2025: Egelsbach, Hans-Fleißner-Straße (Geschwindigkeitsgefahrenstrecke)
- 04.11.2025: B 459, Dreieich in Fahrtrichtung Offenbach (Unfallschwerpunkt)
- 05.11.2025: BAB 66, Fulda in Fahrtrichtung Frankfurt, Anschlussstelle Bad Orb (Geschwindigkeitsgefahrenstrecke)
- 06.11.2025: L 2310, Mainhausen in Fahrtrichtung Stockstadt (Unfallschwerpunkt)
- 07.11.2025: BAB 66, Fulda in Fahrtrichtung Frankfurt, Anschlussstelle Bad Soden-Salmünster (Lärmschutz)
- 08. und 09.11.2025: BAB 66, Fulda in Fahrtrichtung Frankfurt, Anschlussstelle Bad Soden-Salmünster (Lärmschutz)
Important traffic rules for drivers
But what should drivers know to get through the region safely? A speed limit does not automatically end at the next intersection or junction, like that ADAC clarifies. Even if the traffic sign is missing, the limitation remains in place until the next clear marking.
It is particularly important for drivers who are unfamiliar with the area not to fear violations if they no longer see a traffic sign after turning. The ADAC therefore calls for traffic signs to be repeated after important intersections to improve traffic safety. A speed limit always ends when a cancellation sign is shown or when a new speed limit is set.
It is particularly important to observe the speed limits in dangerous areas such as construction sites or tight curves. These restrictions often end without a corresponding lifting sign if the end of the restriction is clearly visible at the location.
Increasing traffic safety
The upcoming controls are a step in the right direction to increase road safety in the region. It is also important to ensure that speed limits in dangerous areas continue to be strictly adhered to. According to a ruling by the Hamm Higher Regional Court, a speed limit ends where the specific danger for drivers unfamiliar with the area has passed.
These measures are intended to help improve safety on the roads in the Offenbach district and the Main-Kinzig district. If you want to be safe on the road, you stick to the rules - and therefore make life easier for other road users.
So in the coming week it's time to open your eyes and slow down. Your safety and that of others is our top priority!
