Maintal Community Foundation supports seniors: New benches for a better quality of life!
What motivates the citizens in Maintal? A committed group is pushing hard to improve the quality of life in the city. The Maintal Community Foundation, which has been passionately supporting projects to strengthen coexistence since it was founded in 2008, has now made a generous donation of 2,700 euros to the senior citizens' advisory board. These funds will be used to purchase three new benches, which offer older people a welcome opportunity to rest and thus support their independence. The GNZ reports about these positive developments and emphasizes how important such initiatives are for citizens.
Alexander Kowatsch, deputy chairman of the community foundation, emphasizes the need for these benches. There are already over 30 locations in Maintal, which are not only well frequented but are also regularly checked for their condition. Ulf Krusewitz and Karl-Heinz Meyer are the contact persons responsible for the placement of the benches and ensure constant improvement through discussions with users. Citizens often provide valuable information about where additional benches would make sense.
A senior-friendly environment
The Senior Citizens' Advisory Board strives to create an environment suitable for senior citizens and to actively promote the mobility of older citizens. This not only increases the quality of life, but also avoids social exclusion. The city of Maintal explains the goals of the committee, whose members come from all four districts of the city.
With a composition of 9 to 17 volunteer members, the Senior Citizens' Advisory Council ensures that the interests of the older generation are heard in politics. The volunteers work for a period of five years and are committed to the integration of older people into local politics.
Funding opportunities and further information
The community foundation has made a name for itself not only through this donation, but also through the easy application for funding. This low-threshold application enables numerous commitments and the realization of further charitable projects. The city regularly provides information about funding opportunities so that anyone interested has the chance to get involved.
The public meetings of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Council take place six times a year and are easily accessible to citizens. They provide a framework in which all citizens are welcome to raise their voices and raise their concerns. The meetings take place on Mondays at 2:00 p.m. and the venue is barrier-free.
Committed actions like these bring a breath of fresh air into the city and show that the focus in Maintal is on quality of life for all generations. It is encouraging to see people working together to create change and promote community cohesion.
