Ceremonial opening of the ALEA SCHOOL Campus in Bad Orb – a new educational space!

Today, July 6, 2025, a new educational location was opened in Bad Orb: The ALEA SCHOOL Campus Lindenallee. This ceremonial opening took place shortly before the first day of school and the start of the summer holidays, which gave the atmosphere a particularly festive setting. Among those present were school authority Henning Strauss, school principal Pauline Ponti, Pepperdine President Jim Gash and Minister of Education Armin Schwarz (CDU).

The opening ceremony not only featured speeches and tours, but also a BBQ with Californian specialties. Headmaster Pauline Ponti led the approximately 40 students through the new campus premises. Particularly impressive was the symbolic act in which the children planted 20 insect-friendly bushes on campus to demonstrate their connection with nature. The musical highlight of the event was the live performance by Lina Larissa Strahl, who is known to many as the voice actress of the clever vixen Amber.

An innovative school concept

The ALEA SCHOOL is a bilingual G9 high school whose students have the opportunity to acquire either the German Abitur or an IB diploma. This flexible offering makes the school stand out from the broad masses of the German education system. It is important to mention that education policy in Germany is a matter for the states and that there are therefore large differences in the education system between the federal states. These differences affect, among other things, primary school years, school types and qualifications, as the Federal Agency for Civic Education explains.

ALEA SCHOOL is affectionately known as the “Home of the Foxes”, with the official school mascots being the smart foxes Oak and Amber. These characters were designed by Disney illustrator Ken Duncan, who has worked on famous Disney classics, among other things. The fox, chosen as the heraldic animal, stands for cleverness, inventiveness, courage and curiosity - characteristics that are intended to shape the students' learning attitude. The fox also refers to the connection to nature and the surrounding Spessart forest, which also inspired the Brothers Grimm to write their famous fairy tales.

Expansion and promotion

ALEA SCHOOL has already announced an educational partnership with the Senckenberg Society for Natural Research, which will undoubtedly give the school environment an additional boost. The implementation of the plans for the final school campus on Parkallee is already underway. A move there is planned for the 2028/2029 school year, which should offer the students even better opportunities.

Interested parents can now register their children for fifth graders for the 2026/2027 school year. This underlines ALEA SCHOOL's commitment to further expanding educational opportunities for future generations in the region. In Bad Orb there is also a lot of focus on future-oriented education!
