Christmas tree shines in Bad Homburg: Advent season is picking up speed!

In Bad Homburg v. d. There is already Advent magic at altitude. The Christmas tree on the Kurhaus forecourt, an impressive 18 meters high and 40 years old, began its journey from the Vogelsberg on October 30, 2025. The depot employees, Thilo Kappus and Fritzges Forestry, managed the arrival in a time frame of one and a half hours. Weighing four tons, the tree will be decorated in the coming days with modern LED light strands, which will not only provide festive lighting but are also energy efficient and sustainable, reports bad-homburg.de.

Mayor Alexander Hetjes expressed his anticipation of the upcoming Advent season, which will be celebrated in Bad Homburg with numerous festive activities and events. From October 31st, another Christmas tree will also be set up at the Europakreisel, sponsored by the Bad Homburg casino. From November 4th, even more Christmas trees will decorate various parts of the city, including Ober-Erlenbach, Ober-Eschbach, Gonzenheim, Kirdorf, Dornholzhausen, the station forecourt and the market square.

A Christmas town awakens

The Christmas town of Bad Homburg opens its doors from November 20th, 2025 to January 11th, 2026. During this time, the city center will not only be festively decorated, but will also have an illuminated starry glow at the Kurhaus and in the city. An absolute highlight is the romantic Christmas market at the castle, which can be visited on all four Advent weekends. Here you can find traditional handicrafts from regional exhibitors as well as delicious food, including bratwurst, tarte flambée, pulled salmon burgers and warming waffles. In addition, the Schlosshof railway will bring a lot of joy to little guests. Further information can be found on the Bad Homburg Christmas Town website weihnachtsstadt-bad-homburg.com.

A Christmas atmosphere is exuded in the city center with decorated shop windows and brilliant lighting. For all ice skating fans, the ice winter in the spa park offers numerous opportunities to let off steam on the ice. The little ones are also catered for: a children's carousel and the Christmas forest at the Kurhaus promise an atmospheric atmosphere.

A shimmering light concept

The romantic Christmas market at the castle, which will be equipped with a new lighting concept, will also shine in a completely new light. LED fairy lights and pine garlands will enhance the festive atmosphere, while the pine cone lights are replaced with warm, atmospheric lighting. The further design of the Christmas lights in the city center will also be adapted to this concept. The Waisenhausplatz receives a new, atmospheric setting with sustainable “snowball” lighting elements, supported by the Future City Center funding program of the state of Hesse.

The city of Bad Homburg has gradually converted all of its festive lighting to LED since 2016, and the existing Christmas forest with around 40 Christmas trees on Kurhausplatz, which has been providing a festive atmosphere since 2020, is also continuously receiving new accents. The focus is on a festive atmosphere, sustainability and longevity.
