Farewell to the 15th KJP: New chapter for the youth in Vogelsberg!

An exciting chapter comes to an end: The 15th district youth parliament (KJP) of the Vogelsberg district has said goodbye after two years of active commitment. During the ceremonial handover not only to the new MPs, but also to the committed young people who shaped the past KJP, District Administrator Dr. Jens Mischak the commitment of all participants involved. "It was like a school trip, only better," says Mischak with regard to the joint experiences of young people, who were able to realize both local and national projects. [Oberhessen-Live] reports that Leonhard Loll was elected as the new chairman of the 16th KJP.

"We have achieved a lot," emphasized Mayor Rainer-Hans Vollmöller and emphasized the important role of the KJP for democracy and the formation of young people. In retrospect for the past two years, the MPs of the 15th KJP not only looked back on their decisions, but also at the large number of events, workshops and trips to Wiesbaden, Brussels and Berlin.

success and challenges

The remarkable projects are the successful application for the introduction of hygiene donors in schools, which received a large majority in the district council. However, due to the exorbitant costs of 3.5 million euros, the application for a nationwide student ticket was not almost fulfilled as a heart concern. But there were also gratifying results: the group was proud of the creative results of their work, such as the graffiti wall in Zell and its own film project. The film "Open", the premiere of which took place in the Lauterbacher Lichtspielhaus, was even shown at the "Visional" youth film festival.

The new board of the 16th KJP, which in addition to chairman Leonhard Loll also includes deputy Armin Salavati and the 3rd chairman Moritz Lang, is supplemented by press spokeswoman Esther Arnold and protocol veteriner Selin Volp. A total of 23 committed MPs from various locations in the Vogelsberg district are committed to the concerns of their generation.

The way of youth participation

But what makes work in the KJP so important? The participation of young people in municipal decision -making processes is increasingly politically promoted in Germany. The German Federal Youth Ring (DBJR) decided in 2022 the position "Youth Parliaments as a format of municipal youth participation". It is determined that the right to participate is firmly anchored in many federal states, which strengthens the participation in decisions. Youth parliaments, also known as youth councils or youth councils, are an excellent way to bring in young voices in the political discourse by either receiving an application or right to speak in the "adult parliament" and can sometimes even manage their own budget. [DBJR] explains that these formats are supported by pedagogical specialists, which makes work significantly easier for young people.

In the middle of these developments, it is important that the framework conditions for youth parliaments are designed transparently, inclusive and target group -friendly. This is the only way to get the opportunity to participate and adequately represent their interests. The strengthening of child and youth participation is supported not only by the government coalition, but also by numerous organizations that work for the interests and Initiative of youth.

The exciting journey of the 16th district youth parliament has only started, but the look back shows how much the young people have achieved in the past two years. As a successful pioneer, you will also deal with the upcoming challenges with a good hand. Further information on the KJP can be found at Vogelsbergkreis.de .
