Alsfeld narrow film and photo club impresses with a new exhibition!
The Alsfeld narrow film and photo club (SFA) is offering a lively opening with its latest exhibition “Best of”, which opened on November 14, 2025 in the historic Neurath barn. The new chairman of the SFA is Michael Giatas, who took over the leadership from Detlev Gehrke. In his speech, Mayor Stephan Paule took up the importance of this association for contemporary history and referred to the impressive example of the film documentation of the Neurath barn from 1968. He emphasized how important the preservation of history is for Alsfeld's identity.
The exhibition includes around 30 photographs that show the creative work of the club members. Jochen Weppler, chairman of the history and museum association, welcomed the visitors and emphasized the valuable cooperation between the associations. “This initiative combines the past with an artistic expression that can appeal to young and old generations,” said Weppler.
New perspectives and plans
Michael Giatas, who joined the SFA in mid-2025 when the club was facing dissolution, has big plans. “We want to involve the public more and expand the activities of the SFA from 2026,” he explained. The current goal is to increase the number of members from 25 to over 50. To achieve this, Giatas plans to make the association more open and accessible to young people. “The old town is an invaluable source of inspiration for our members,” continued Giatas, who praised the creativity of his colleagues.
The “Best of” exhibition is open to the public until December 1, 2025. Here, those interested have the opportunity not only to admire the work of the member photographers, but also to learn more about the history of Alsfeld.
Technical glitches and challenges
Interestingly, in addition to this cultural highlight, there are also current technical challenges that seem familiar to many people in the digital age. It can be quite frustrating if your computer suddenly displays the “USB Device Not Recognized” error when trying to retrieve memories from a USB stick. This can be especially annoying when it comes to precious memories, like wedding photos. To solve such problems, there are some tips that can pave the way back to functionality. A simple restart can often work wonders - safely remove the USB stick, shut down the computer and, if possible, remove the battery on laptops.
With a well-placed USB and the right troubleshooting approach, it is sometimes possible to recover lost data and with it the memories of beautiful moments. If you would like to deal with the solutions to the USB problem in more detail, you can go to WithSteps Look around who offer numerous helpful tips.
With the “Best of” exhibition and the SFA's plans to open up to the public, the association is on a promising path to not only preserve the history of Alsfeld, but also to inspire a new generation for photography and film art. The commitment of Michael Giatas and his members will certainly provide a lot to talk about in the coming months.
