First quick loading park opened on the A4-future of e-mobility in Hesse!
Electromobility takes a big step forward: Today, June 11, 2025, Autobahn GmbH opened the first fast loading park on the Germany network on the A4 in Hesse. The new location can be found between the Wileck-Hönebach and Friedewald junctions in the direction of Bad Hersfeld and welcomes electric car drivers with open arms in order to offer them a quick and uncomplicated charging option. This step is part of the extensive expansion of the charging infrastructure, which the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) drives forward and which is to create numerous new charging points by 2026. As BMV, a Germany network of quick loading points is to be created in the coming years.
The new loading park is equipped with a total of three columns, each offer two CCS connections and can provide impressive charging power of up to 400 kW. Newcomers can recharge your batteries with a mid -range car within just 10 minutes to drive up to 500 kilometers. With two loading vehicles at the same time, each can still be supplied with at least 200 kW. In addition, the loading park is operated by Autostrom.plus GmbH and only uses green electricity for the charging processes, which is not only environmentally friendly, but also protects the wallet: The ad hoc charging price is 59 cents per kWh-this is one of the cheapest in the entire motorway network.
comprehensive expansion plans
The inauguration of this loading park is only the first step on a long -term plan, which provides for a total of 4,000 quick loading points on motorways. In addition, the BMV plans to create a total of 9,000 other quick load points throughout Germany, both in urban and rural areas and on unmanaged rest areas. These measures should ensure that drivers can quickly find the next charging station throughout Germany by 2026. Around EUR 2.3 billion is invested in the implementation of this project, which is also based on an extensive needs analysis of the National control center charging infrastructure.
But what does that mean specifically for the drivers of electric vehicles? The new infrastructure will not only increase comfort when traveling, but also increase the supply of unmanaged rest areas. Each new location will be equipped with at least four quick load points in order to meet the growing demand. These developments are part of the fast charging law, which was decided by the Bundestag in May 2021 and creates the legal basis for a nationwide quick shop network.
Electromobility is therefore on the fast lane. With these new charging parks, traveling with electric cars not only makes it easier, but also faster and more efficient. One thing is certain: the future belongs to electromobility - and it comes faster than expected.
