In particular, the future of the work in Karben is considered endangered. However, specific statements about the effects on the location in Korbach are still missing. Aysenur Yildirim, spokeswoman for Continental, expresses that no reliable information on the situation in the area of tires can be given.

What does the future look like? Continental presented an extensive structural program entitled "Transformation 2019-2029" on September 1st, which is supposed to provide a breath of fresh air. The areas of Automotive and Tires have been redesigned to better take the current requirements into account. The automotive area includes technologies such as security and movement systems as well as innovative solutions for automated driving. The Tires division continues to offer a wide range of tire solutions for different vehicles and relies on digital technologies for tire monitoring.

The sales distribution in the Tires area shows that 24 % of the sales are generated by vehicle manufacturers and 76 % by the tire replacement business. This sophisticated business model could be crucial to master the current challenges. Korbach could play a key role if the situation stabilizes and new orders come in.

The uncertain situation is also a topic for the new “Korbach Goldmarie”, which is presented in the first big interview in the podcast.
