Finest acoustic sound: Third stair concert inspires in Korbach!

A happy evening in Korbach: The Third Staircase Concert took place on June 23, 2025, transforming the city into a musical oasis with the finest acoustic sound. In the shadow of the historic town hall building, visitors enjoyed an intimate concert, the highlight of which was the long-standing collaboration between Jörg Pfeil and Cita Jorde.

The atmosphere could hardly have been better: in pleasant weather, the audience gathered on the steps, with mats, pallets and their own chairs, to follow the spectacle. A cozy beer garden area that had been prepared for the concert invited people to fortify themselves with drinks and let the sounds work their magic. Mayor Stefan Kieweg opened the event, thanked the organizers and created a friendly foundation right from the start.

A musical experience in a class of its own

The concert offered a wide range of sounds, with Jörg Pfeil with his guitar and Cita Jorde on the microphone captivating the audience. They effortlessly managed to engage the audience, especially when singing along to “Lost on You,” which was accompanied by a two-part background choir. The performance included both rhythmic and soulful songs as well as profound German lyrics by the artist Katharina Franck, who performed her own lyrics, such as for her piece “Revival”. She was supported by Werner Neumann on guitar.

The musical development of the two artists was clearly noticeable and ranged from quiet, pop-oriented pieces to impressive, melancholic performances. This stylistic diversity ensured a poetic, calm and sometimes thoughtful audience experience that visibly moved those present.

Culture and diversity in the region

Concert events such as the Staircase Concert are booming in the region. The 2nd Hanseatic Festival is coming up in September, which is another highlight in the event calendar. Here, the official street music world champion Borja Catanesi will perform and present a variety of music genres, ranging from African music and folk to jazz and blues. This year, visitors can look forward to over 21 bands from different countries, making the festival a colorful spectacle that is already considered more important in relevant circles than last year. The organizer Jörg is not only known for the music, but also for his travels through different countries and the special appreciation he has for the air and beauty of the “edlake region” after his stays abroad.

Festivals in Germany are becoming increasingly popular, and concerts like the Staircase Concert are increasingly becoming a centerpiece of the local cultural scene. Whether at the Glücksfühle Festival, which is considered the largest festival in Germany, or at the Fusion Festival with its unique art installations - the diversity of the musical landscape inspires thousands of visitors every year and proves that there is really something going on in culture.

So it remains to be seen what other musical highlights the region has in store. Korbach and its events are well on their way to becoming a legendary name in this colorful cultural scene.
