In recent years, the students have treated central issues such as lawsuit, suffering and pastoral accompaniment, as well as reflection on supporting communities in communities and social institutions. These topics are of great importance for the new generation of deacons, since they have to pass on these experiences in their future activities. And it does not remain theory: the training enables the participants to explore different professional fields and to make it creative.a new way in deacon training

This creates an even more informed framework for the training that meets the high demands of today's social and pastoral work.

From August, after the Hessian summer vacation, interested parties can take the opportunity to apply for the course that offers an exciting perspective for those who have a degree in social or nursing profession. For example, educators, geriatric nurses or social workers can enroll in deacon training.

As part of their work, deacons design church services for preschool children, support people in crises and plan free time with confirmands. The celebration of Christian festivals and the accompaniment of people with disabilities are also part of their tasks. This not only requires a deep understanding of spiritual issues, but also strong communication skills and empathy. The reflection of practice in mentors groups during the training also plays a central role in order to be prepared for the variety of needs in the communities.
The three -year training includes monthly seminar blocks in which the learning content is deepened and offers the opportunity to gain initial practical experience during the internship. Applications are easily possible via the Hephata homepage or by email.
