New playground in Melsungen: A test for little adventurers!

The new playground in Melsungen has thrilled the families in the area! Ramona Görig and her children Ilay (7) and Elif (3) took a close look at the place and recorded their impressions in a test report. The family from Michelsberg, a district of Schwalmstadt, thinks that the playground has a lot to offer. With seven different play areas, there is something for everyone and the children can run around to their heart's content.

Ilay is particularly fascinated by the slide, which is accessible via a climbing net. Sure, it's fun! Elif, on the other hand, has her very own technique and simply runs up the slide. The two siblings enjoy the double swing where they can give each other a boost. When you jump into the water landscape with Archimedean screws and a fountain, you quickly notice that there is no shortage of fun here either. Ilay has difficulty collecting enough water for the mill wheel, but thanks to his mother he finally manages it.

Room for improvement

While the play equipment is generally of good quality and promises high entertainment value, there are also some points of criticism. The test family and certainly many other visitors find the number of seats to be insufficient. Five benches and a table are not enough when there is a lot of traffic. There are also defects such as missing awnings and tripping hazards caused by edges, which can cause difficulties, especially for small children. A fence facing the street would also be desirable to increase security. Finally, the water feature lacks a fall protection mat, which is also an issue according to the test experience.

The city of Melsungen is not alone in such concerns. There are a total of 20 playgrounds in the city, which create joy of life and freedom for children and families. Inclusion plays a role

An increasingly important topic is inclusive playgrounds. Loud Human Action There are already DIN standards for the construction of inclusive and barrier-free playgrounds, but these can only be applied voluntarily. In order for something to really change, legal requirements are needed that ensure that children with disabilities are taken into account right from the start. The goal is clear: to push back discrimination in childhood.

In the USA, all newly built playgrounds have had to be barrier-free since 2012. Such inclusive offers promote equal coexistence and are beneficial for all children. In Germany we are still at the beginning in this regard, although existing inclusive playgrounds are very well received. Melsungen still has potential to further improve the playing landscape and make it inviting for everyone.

The Görig family is already planning their next visit to the new playground in Melsungen, and we can imagine that many other families will join us. After all, it is a good place to have fun and enjoy your free time together!
