On August 11, 2025, spectators in the Hessian North Association League can look back on a thrilling football weekend. FSV Wolfhagen was particularly in the spotlight in the district derby and was able to defeat OSC Vellmar in an exciting duel. Fupa.net reports that Wolfhager had the upper hand in the 20th minute despite a yellow-red card for Maximilian Sobocinski. Malte Suntrup scored the decisive goal in the 33rd minute after an exemplary pass from Tjarde Bandowski.
But the match day had even more to offer: FSV Dörnberg secured their first point of the season in their first home game against KSV Hessen Kassel II, who took the lead despite an own goal from Tom Wagner. A late goal from the guests was disallowed due to offside. In the end, Dörnberg remained in a draw, while the Hessen reserve also held on to one point.

However, the day was anything but pleasant for OSC Vellmar. After the 1:4 defeat against Eiterfeld on August 9th Hessenschau they now suffered another Kl defeat, this time with a clear 1:4 against Kl. Hünfeld/Doh. Jonathan Vach also missed a penalty in the 18th minute, which didn't exactly make the situation easier for Vellmar. With two defeats in a row, the OSC is now under pressure in the table.
A bright spot was TSV Wabern, who dominated the duel against an opponent with a 4-1 win. While Amir Hossini equalized in the 27th minute, the Wabern team were able to convince with goals from Andre England (22nd, 46th), Niklas Müller (34th) and Luca Wendel (45th + 2, penalty). These performances will take them further into the race for the top places after the second matchday of the association league.
Outlook for the upcoming games
The next matches also promise excitement: On August 17th, OSC Vellmar will face Fulda-Lehnerz II, while the duel against Calden/Meimbresse will take place on August 20th. The spectators can be curious to see whether Vellmar can lick his wounds and turn things around. On the other hand, Wabern will try to continue his run.
