The city center of Kassel will be transformed into a colorful fair from Thursday, October 30th to Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 - theCasseler Freedominvites you to an unforgettable experience. The event, which is organized by Kassel Marketing GmbH, the CityKaufleuten and the city management, promises to be a highlight for both families and friends in the region.
Visitors can look forward to a spectacular fair atmosphere. Large rides such as the Ferris wheel, the “Starlight” music express and the “Scirocco” are set up on Königsplatz. Younger visitors will get their money's worth in the children's carousel, while the nostalgic attraction of the chain planes is available on the Opera Square. The offering is complemented by culinary delights stalls that pamper the guests' palates at Friedrichsplatz.
Opening times and special events
The rides start at 2 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, while the gates open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A special highlight is the flea market, which takes place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on lower Wilhelmsstrasse and Karlsplatz. Antiques, porcelain, jewelry and all kinds of bric-a-brac are waiting to be discovered here.
All shopping lovers have the opportunity to visit the shops in the city center on Sunday, November 2nd from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Another highlight are the street artists who perform in the pedestrian zone on Sundays. Imaginatively costumed stilt walkers from the Bremen troupe “Stelzen-Art” and the juggler Güstaf with his steampunk vehicle “Smoky 41” will captivate the audience.
Halloween market in the market hall
The market hall offers a special during the festivalHalloween marketto. Family-friendly spooky activities take place on Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., before a Halloween party with entry costs of 8 euros on Saturday from 5 p.m. The market hall's regular sales hours remain, so that numerous regional products can also be purchased here.
