150 years of MGV Rennertehausen: A fantastic celebration for the region!

Last weekend everything was on its feet in Rennertehausen because the MGV Rennertehausen had reason to celebrate: its 150th anniversary! Although the festivities began on Friday, July 4th, they culminated on Sunday with an impressive parade. The celebrations ended with a hearty breakfast on Monday, July 7th, which once again attracted tens of thousands of festival guests to the festival tent.

On Saturday evening, a total of 172 singers performed under the direction of Horst-Werner Bremmer and Frank Leyhe. The atmosphere was simply amazing! The performance was part of the local and district singers' festival, which has now become quite traditional, at which the voices of MGV Rennertehausen were heard loudly, including catchy tunes such as “Today is a wonderful day” and “In the village where I was born”. Around 500 guests celebrated the performance in a festive tent.

A celebration for the whole community

MGV chairman Arno Clemens was more than pleased with the participation of the many players and noted that the club's wide range of offerings contributes to its popularity. The MGV Rennertehausen has been enriching cultural life in the region for many years, and the audience is enthusiastic about the various choirs that the club offers. These include the men's choir, which performs traditional songs and modern arrangements, the mixed choir "Querbeet" with a harmonious variety of songs, and a children's choir, which encourages and motivates the youngest singing enthusiasts to discover the joy of singing. Information about the choirs, current activities and future dates can be found on the association's official homepage, which always keeps members and interested parties up to date.

Mayor Carsten Schäfer, who took over the patronage of the anniversary, emphasized the importance of the association for the community in his speech. “The MGV is an important part of our cultural life,” says Schäfer. Mayor Jürgen Schneider also emphasized the role of the choir in Rennertehausen and manifested the feeling of togetherness that comes from singing. A special honor was given to Klaus Trollhagen, chairman of the Central German Singers' Association, who was the first well-wisher to present certificates of honor to Arno Clemens.

A look at the festival program

The festival program was varied and left nothing to be desired. In addition to the big festival evening, where guest choirs as well as guest choirs contributed to the celebration with their voices, a magnificent parade took place on Sunday. Over 20 groups and clubs took part, musically accompanied by the Frankenland festival band and the Battenberg music train. This parade was a real feast for the eyes and offered a colorful sight for young and old.

The traditional morning pint on Monday morning, which was accompanied by music from the “Grumis”, provided a fitting conclusion to the anniversary. This festival weekend will be fondly remembered by everyone involved and visitors for a long time.
